Cook’s Lobster & Ale House

If Cook’s was selling condos, we’d move in for the season

The lobster roll at Cook’s Lobster & Ale House

Bailey Island is home to Cook’s Lobster & Ale House. It’s also been the source of our most vivid coastal real estate fantasy every day since our last visit. Cook’s isn’t so much a shack as it is a full restaurant, but we won’t hold that against them. Especially since it bring fresh seafood and stunning views to the table year-round, a rarity for a small Maine summer town.

What To Order

Cook’s lets the classics shine, giving you lobster just about any way you want it, including in your Bloody Mary. Lobster rolls, lobster BLTs, lobster ravioli, freshly caught, sautéed, whatever your preference, they can make it for you. But don’t sleep on the broiled fish dinners, fish & chips, or seafood stuffed haddock when you’re in the mood for something that swims.

Where To Go

If you’re looking for a side of views with your meal, you’ve arrived at the right spot. Just an hour north of Portland down the Harpswell Penninsula, the Casco Bay shines bright from every window, deck, and bar seat at Cook’s. Sunsets from the red Adirondack chairs are total stunners, but there are few better spots to day drink after a morning in the sun than at their air conditioned bar with its boozy drinks and full menu. No matter the time of day, Cook’s Lobster & Ale House is the destination you’ll want to put into your GPS.
